Soil Surveys
|
|
A soil survey includes soil maps and descriptions of each type of soil in the county, as well as interpretations of the soil’s characteristics and potential for community planning, agricultural land management, engineering and wildlife management. Soil Survey Maps are the most detailed level of soil mapping done by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). This level of mapping is designed for use by landowners, townships, and county natural resource planning and management. The user should be knowledgeable of soils data and their characteristics. The Library DataWorks, University of Nevada, Reno, is developing this site to provide students, researchers, and the general public access to public domain spatial data in easy-to-use formats. |
