Nevada
Map Atlas
Zip files linked from the index map contain georeferenced
TIF and SID files for all 30 minute quads contained in the Atlas,
as well as
metadata for the project. The files were generously provided
by the Nevada Department of Transportation. These same maps
are
available in pdf format from the NDOT. |
|
Digital Orthophoto Quads
Digital orthophotos are photographic images that combine the image
characteristics of an aerial photograph with the geometric qualities
of a map. Orthophotos may serve as base maps onto which other
map information can be overlaid. |
 |
Washoe County Soil
Surveys
A soil survey includes soil maps and descriptions of each type of
soil in the county, as well as interpretations of the soil’s characteristics
and potential for community planning, agricultural land management,
engineering and wildlife management. |

National Agriculture Imagery
Project (NAIP)
| The National Agriculture Imagery
Program (NAIP) acquires imagery during the agricultural
growing seasons in the continental U.S. A primary goal
of the NAIP program is to enable availability of digital
orthophotography within a year of acquisition. Metadata
record (having the extension .met) are included with
each SID image. All Geotiff and SID images are NAD83
UTM Zone 11. |

 |
Color
Infrared NAIP
| NAIP images described above reprocessed
in color infrared. All Geotiff and SID images are NAD83
UTM Zone 11. |

USGS Topographic Maps of Nevada
and Bordering Areas
Digital Raster Graphics (DRGs) are scanned images (minimum resolution
of 250 dots per inch) of USGS standard series topographic maps,
including all collar information. |
 |
Landsat Thematic Mapper Data
for the Great Basin
Digital reflectance band data from LandSat 4,5, and 7including false
color composite of each path/row scene. |
 |
National Elevation Dataset (NED)
- Nevada
National Elevation Dataset (NED) coverages for 1X1 degree blocks.
Developed by the USGS to create an improved, seamless map of the
United States from DEM data. |
|
Digital Elevation Models (DEMs)
- Nevada
Digital files consisting of terrain elevations for ground positions
at regularly spaced horizontal intervals. |

Great Basin Geoscience Data
Base
A compilation of digital geospatial data for the Great Basin including
geology, geochemistry, thematic coverages, geophysics and base maps.
Data was provided by the USGS DDS-41:Great Basin Geoscience Data
Base CD-ROM, Vol. 1. All images saved as ArcView shapefiles. |

Nevada Land Cover Data
Nevada Land Cover Data available for download as an ArcView project.
You must have the Spatial Analyst extension in order to open this
data set. |
The Data Warehouse provides links to digital spatial
data covering Nevada, the Great Basin, and beyond. We have compiled spatial
data from sources such as the U.S. Geological Survey and have processed
it into user-friendly formats where possible.
The University of Nevada, Reno,
DataWorks is developing
this site to provide students, researchers, and the general public access
to public domain spatial data in easy-to-use formats.
